Welcome to a (mock) launch pad for Ottawa Film Scene, an online portal for everything film in Ottawa!
I've been contemplating this for a long time. A place where all things film in Ottawa converge.
I'm citing a direct influence from the Toronto Film Scene online magazine. It's sophisticated and slick, and I'm going to be in touch with them to see how they do their business.
You hit this site, and you have all the rest at your fingertips. It's updated by everyone, and CENTRALLY MANAGED, to announce projects, keep informed, be a resource for not just filmmakers but people who know us, love us, and want to support us (i.e. people with money) and to learn and grow this damn "industry" in Ottawa... Come hell of high water...
I did this for free, online, in about 60 minutes.
I can't do this by myself, but I can start it. The idea is to have a monthly publish of an online magazine with selected contributors and topics every month, an email newsletter for marketing and publicity, interviews, indie and other movie reviews, project spotlights and outreach, and periodic updates (photos, instagram feeds, etc.) as and when they come in by those making films. Casting calls, location scouts, you name it, it goes here.
Imagine what we can do as a community. Let's make other filmmakers want to be in Ottawa because the support is first rate and second to none.
Elevating the game. That's what I'd like to be a part of. I can't do it by myself. And, you can't always trust a writer... we're flighty and temperamental.

Weekly Project Profile/Interview/Etc.
We are delighted that we have now reached our goal of $3,000 and the shooting of A Clean Slate will move forward as planned during the first week of April.
Thank you to everyone who spread the word about our campaign, attended the fundraiser screenings on Feb 8th and made pledges!
Kickstarter has an "All or Nothing" funding model so we would like to send a very special thank you to backers who increased their earlier pledges to help us make the goal.
We still have a few days left in the campaign and we encourage those who have been holding off until the exciting finish to join our other backers by making pledges. THE MULLIGAN, 11 short films streaming online on March 15th is available for a pledge of $10.
Additional money we collect through this campaign will be used to increase the production value of our short film, on the little touches that enhance the environment we create for our actors, on items like props, wardrobe and makeup.
Thank you for supporting our project and Indie Film!
